Our Story
Welcome to Mélo Wine Bar, where every visit feels like stepping into a cozy apartment from the 19th century. Located at Peder Hvitfeldts Stræde 17 in the heart of Copenhagen, right by Kultorvet square, our wine bar combines history, charm, and great wine.
Mélo Wine Bar is designed to feel like home, with three inviting rooms made for relaxing and enjoying good company. Each space has the character of its 1800s origins, offering a warm and simple setting for wine lovers.
At Mélo, we offer a wide selection of wines, focusing on:
Classic Wines: From all the major regions and well-known grape varieties.
Natural Wines: A small selection for those looking for something different.
With 40 wines by the glass and a carefully chosen bottle list featuring big, well-known producers, there’s something for everyone. Whether you know wine or just enjoy it, our menu is here to explore.
To go with our wines, we serve cold tapas-style dishes that are perfect for sharing. From cheeses to charcuterie, everything is chosen to match well with a glass or bottle of wine.
We started in 2020 as a small space for just 35 guests. Over time, we expanded into the lower floor and an adjoining room. By 2024, we could welcome up to 120 guests, creating more space to enjoy wine and good company.

We are happy to host larger groups, whether it’s a celebration or a wine tasting. Let us help you plan an event that suits your needs, with good wine and a cozy atmosphere.
Meet the Owners
Mélo Wine Bar is owned by Nathan Ellison and Zakaria Mallak, both certified sommeliers with WSET Level 3. Our passion is wine and hospitality, and we work closely with our team to ensure every guest feels welcome. You’ll often find one of us behind the bar, sharing our love for wine.
